About the Artist

Hello~!

I'm Rink, a.k.a. kellerybird! I’m a freelance digital artist based in Northern California.

My strengths lie in digital illustration, primarily character design and costume design. I've self published comics and contributed to various zines, anthologies, and art projects over the years.

My main project is my original webcomic, Saffron Wave, a historical magical girl story that updates every Wednesday.

I draw a lot of inspiration from anime and manga, most notably shoujo (girls') series like Sailor Moon and Tokyo Mew Mew. I like to combine my interests into my art, which is why I specialize in historical magical girl illustrations and comics. Well, just the one comic right now, but I've got plans for others!

F.A.Q.

Do you take commissions/art requersts/trades/etc?

My commissions are currently closed. I don't generally take art requests as my free time is very limited due to my day job and I want to prioritize my comics. I generally only do trades with mutual art friends.

Can I use your art at an icon/pfp?

Yes, as long as you credit me as the artist!

What art school did you go to?

I briefly attended the Art Institute of Las Vegas. That was probably the biggest mistake of my life, I didn't really learn anything useful while I was there and all I got was a butt-load of debt. I'm otherwise self-taught thanks to the internet and just muscling my way through learning things on my own.
